Make Up Trends that I Will Follow into Next Year

The Ombre Lip

It's very reminiscent of the Naomi Campbells dark lip liner trend in the 90's. I wear this lip daily but more subtly using Sleek Purple lip liner on the parameter of my lips and on my top lip and Sleek 'FireGlow' lipstick to fill in the centre of my bottom lip then I gently press them together.

Bare Skin Bold Lips

This look requires the most minimal make-up on your eyes and a strong highly pigmented lip colour. Surprisingly the focus will not be drawn to your lips but your skin so clear, moisuturised skin with a foundation that gives you a nice dewy glow is a must.

That The Stuff I Don't Like

Thought I'll do this Tag that was going around Youtube.

Here are the things I DON'T like.
1. People who claim to be being real but are just being plain rude

2. People who talk because they like the sound of their own voice

3. When nail polish claims to dry in 60 seconds but in fact takes ten minutes (I'm not patient)

4. When old people get on the trains at rush hour (walk too slow to be in Central London at this time)

5. When people don't dress according to what suits their size and flatter them

6. When I accidentely poke my eye with my mascara

7. When I can't get my make-up or hair looking as good as it did the day before

8. When I forget my umbrella at home (It can rain at any time in London)

9. When my nose is cold

10. People who think they're good at something and no one in their circle of friends will tell them they're not

11. People with political/religious/ any opinions soo strong they won't even listen properly to another point of view

12. 'This summer I went to help a charity out in Africa' , OK, so you went to every country in Africa? Say which one!

13. When people explain things the longest way possible and could have said the same thing in four words.

14. People that keep me waiting when they planned the time I should get their

15. When it's too hot outside

16. When I lose stuff

17. When people ask irrelevent questions

18. When I'm sitting opposite someone on the train and they keep staring at me, awkward

19. Being ill

20. When I cook food for myself and everyone in the house is suddenly hungry when I already asked if you were hungry.

21. Boys with bad chat up lines. Guy X : 'Erm do you like fashion' Me: 'Yes' X: 'Good then I can take you out and we can discuss fashion, you see I'm a good guy and a girl like you needs to be put in Cavalli'  :sGuy Z: 'Hey i'm new to this place do you know any like interesting places to go, like cinemas' Me: 'Yes theirs one about 15 minutes away take bus XXX' Z: 'Ah cool, do you think you think we could go their together some day, you see I haven't made any friends round here yet' (Please note none of this is made up)

22. Junk mail in my inbox

I don't think I dislike too many things :)

2012 Trends I'm Glad I Did Not/Did Follow#

Let's start with the trends I'm glad I did not follow.

The first is the trainer/heel/wedge. I don't think it looks too bad when worn with the right items ie black trainers, black skinny trousers and something loose on top. But I couldn't bring myself to buy into this trend because it is exactly that..a trend.. that  i see only lasting till early 2013, definitely not an investment piece that can be worn with many items.

Second is the bucket bag made infamous by Zara

I see so many women every day wearing this bag, of all ages and theirs nothing wrong with that but they just look so uncomfortable carrying it. It cant be worn on the shoulder as the handles are too small so you end up uncomfortably wearing this wide bag on your arm with your wrist flapping about...Not me. Also for the expensive price that they retail for, it looks like a cheap bag.

American Apparel disco pants

I don't get why, WHY, women wear these leggings in the day time, their too shiny and in my opinion if you have a bit of tum please don't wear these tucked into your top.

Now for the trends I am glad I did follow.

Firstly, leather leggings/trousers. They are surprisingly really flattering and can be dressed down with smart flats or trainers or dressed up with a pair of sparkly heels. There are some great panel designs out their as well which mixes cotton and leather. I like to wear mine with knee high boots.

Secondly, thigh high boots. I bought some Diesel ones from TKmaxx their suede and I have lived in them since starting uni this Sep. Now, thigh high boots have the potential to look slutty and tacky but those types usually involve cheap leather and a skinny heel. What I like about my Diesel boots is that they are flat and have a causal Timberland looking sole. Also the sued texture paired with my leather leggings looks great.

These ones are from Next
Black Over-The-Knee Rider Boots

Finally sweaters. Big, colourful ones. I'll be living in these till winter ends.

How To : Wear The Runway

1.Tutus / Pleats / Skater skirts.
You can tell from my earlier post that i'm really into A-line skirts but I do love tutus aswell. Their both so girly, flirty and suit most shapes and sizes. Their especially great for those who want to accentuate a small waist.

My Designer Picks:

Paul Costello

House of Holland

Giles

 My  Highstreet Picks :

ASOS £35.00

NewLook £3.00 [Bargain !]

River Island £34.99

2.The Trench/Military Coat .
I tend to not really go with what the shops display as the 'it' coat for eash season because then you just end up with several 'it' coats which you won't be able to wear again, so forget all the ruffles, capes and whatnots.
The secret to a long-lasting coat is a simple, slim cut, classic design which is also of a good qaulity.

My Designer Pick :

Burberry Prosum

My High Street Picks :

Both TopShop

3. The one shoulder dress/ Jumpsuit

FlashBack Moment
I've been seeing a few denim dungarees being sold in shops now and it just reminds me soo much of when I was little and my mum used to dress me and my older sister in matching colourful dungarees..I don't think I could ever where them again ! However, something I can see myself wearing from childhood are those t-bar Mary-Jane type shoes, I remember having the Kickers version as a child in yellow and red...just a random memory :) .
